Event Description:
The Ohio Climbers Coalition will be hosting a workday at Sawyer Quarry. This is an outdoor, socially-distanced volunteer experience.
Volunteers will meet in the field in front of the parking lot and/or near the trailhead around 9 a.m.
Volunteers will be clear debris from the climbing area, clean the south cliff face, improve access (especially at the bottom) to North face, move rock to smooth out bouldering landing zones, and bolster bases and trails by utilizing the center pile of rocks and gravel in the quarry. Please note there will be uneven terrain.
There is a parking lot with ample parking across from the trailhead. Bathrooms are available.
Bring snacks, gloves and water. Pizza and tools will be provided. Feel free to bring you own tools if you prefer. Please wear closed-toe shoes. Volunteers can make plans to stay and climb after the event.
